East London Waste Authority (ELWA) is leading on the establishment of a new regional waste prevention programme, covering the four London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Newham and Redbridge. As Waste Prevention and Strategy Manager, you will be responsible for leading on this programme, managing the staff and budget resources to deliver a range of projects and services alongside numerous partners and stakeholders.
You will also play a supporting role in the development of a new East London Joint Resources and Waste Strategy, which will shape how waste reduction, reuse, recycling and treatment services are delivered in the region for the next 30 years.

The role is currently based at ELWA's offices in Romford. However, the organisation is anticipating a move to new premises in one of the four East London boroughs (Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Newham or Redbridge) during 2020, so applicants will need to flexible on working location. There will be a requirement to attend meetings and events across the region and elsewhere in London.
